Well that was a 1st for me today.
It was a privilege to have been asked to conduct a service today for an Elvis impersonator. Not just any impersonator, but one that's won awards in the UK and across Europe too.
Guessing I might be "All Shook Up" today afterwards but hopefully no one treads on my "Blue Suede Shoes" Thank you very much.
What was a bit nervy at first was that there others in the congregation and although I started the service (to the best of my ability) belting out a couple lines of a song, it was a bit nervy too, knowing they were in the congregation.
However it was afterwards after the service, gratification comes when they walk up and shake you hand and say, "That was a really amazing service and that they will remember that for ever, you did my friend proud"
Guess that is why i love being a Celebrant so much
